The Glorious, True Riches of Life

Ah, take a deep breath with me as we begin this Monday.

I hope and pray that this blog post is one of liberation for you- a reminder, a moment to pause and reflect, and an opportunity to view your life through a different perspective.

In the life coaching space, we often talk about stepping into your next powerful chapter. And truly, that is my job. Together, we break your glass ceiling.

Trust me, I know the call for more- more potential, more alignment, using your talents and gifts in a way that beautifully serves others and yourself, and living a life of absolute, authentic joy.

To get there requires discipline.

It requires grit.

It requires looking at failure through its true lens- not the lens of our hidden insecurities being “proven true.” (No.)

I believe we’re called to climb this beautiful mountain- I really do.

To use what we’ve been given to the best of our ability.

It is my joy and honor to guide others through that, even as I continue to navigate it myself.

But…

The mountain is not meant to be climbed with your head down.

In fact… there are intentional rest stops.

…always in front of you, waiting for when you're ready.

I want you to take a moment on this Monday to pause.

Pause the inner chaos.

Hold off on the to-do list for just a moment, and take a deep breath.

Close your eyes and get into your body.

Let your shoulders drop, your tongue rest away from the roof of your mouth, and your forehead finally relax.

Now, sit with something powerful today:

The true, joyful riches of your life.

Nothing material- everything coated in God’s beautiful love.

Your family.

Your kids.

Your friends.

The highs, the lows, and everything in between- think of the people who have been there with you through it all.

Sit with that for about five minutes. Get detailed in your mind as you replay those powerful moments until you feel them in your body.

Now…

Imagine that was taken from you.

Bear with me.

Imagine, just for a moment, that it was the last time you could experience any of that.

Sit with that feeling for a moment.

Now imagine a miracle happens- and all of it is restored into your life.

Somehow, God, through His wondrous miracles, brings it all back to you.

Remember the movie It’s a Wonderful Life? We’re going there for a second.

You have a second chance to step into this life again.

What you used to take for granted- what do you now appreciate?

Call this your “kiss the ground” moment.

I want you to sit with what is truly valuable in your life.

Every bit of it.

Write it down. Meditate on it. Let the love flow through you.

These are the true riches of life.

Beyond achievement, calling, and all of the beautiful places God will lead you- these are the the moments we'll remember and cherish.

The question becomes: How can you live in that space of gratitude now?

If you were my client and we were in a session, I’d ask you to go and make a values list.

What is truly important to you? Why?

When you sit with this, we often melt into the feeling of: “Nothing else really matters, does it?”

There it is.

You will achieve beautiful things in this life, but please don’t forget to use the rest stops on the climb that God has placed there.

Embrace all that you’ve experienced- the love you’ve had, and the moments you never want to say goodbye to.

This is your life. And amidst the chaos and pain, there is immeasurable beauty.

Now, take the rest of today and operate through this lens.

Whatever tasks you have to complete, meetings you have to attend- remember this.

Walk in with a smile, knowing that the love you feel can’t be taken away.

Relish the moments when you get to live in that love again.

All is well.
