From Stuck to Renewed: Why Mindset Renewal Is the Key to Life Change

Renewal.
“Renew: To renovate; to restore to a former state, or to a good state, after decay or depravation; to rebuild; to repair.” — American Dictionary of the English Language
I want to start by saying this: everything- and I mean everything- can be turned into an opportunity.
The question is: will we let it?
There’s no doubt that life includes suffering, and somehow, suffering becomes an integral part of the spiritual process.
But why is it so important?
What can suffering do? Could it actually lead to renewal?
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” — Romans 5:3–4
Is this boldly claiming that suffering can lead to deep, internal growth- and ultimately, hope?
Yes.
In our last membership meeting (more on our re-launch below!), we talked about this pressure we feel in life- how, when it’s allowed, it can be used to develop us. The pressure itself becomes a catalyst for change.
Think about it:
How many of us only change once the consequences become dire enough?
How many shift our behavior when a relationship hits its breaking point?
How often do we figure it out because something forces us to?
Your spirit- whether you’ve recognized it yet or not- is resilient. It already holds the victory. To get to its optimal place and potential, it'll have to enter the gym a bit. Let me tell you, that workout is uncomfortable, but it's needed. Here's the good news:
The flame inside of you can never go out.
Part of my job here is to elevate you into the posture of acceptance of that truth- so that your steps forward are informed by it.
Our trials and tribulations offer us an unbelievable opportunity to strengthen that resilient spirit, nurturing it into the fullness of what God intends.
There is something new that is born in us through the fire.
The question again is: will we let it?
Here’s the powerful truth:
A renewed mind will radically transform your development, your direction, and your destiny, and we are always pushed in the highest direction.
It doesn't matter what season of life you're in- we are all pushed there, and the journey never ends, does it? I've worked with people in all different seasons of life:
Some are preparing to take their leap of faith.
Others have already leapt and are learning how to find their footing.
Some are seeking realignment- to find peace again.
(Often, these overlap beautifully.)
But no matter the stage, one truth remains:
The mind must be renewed.
Rebuilt.
Rewired.
Reshaped.
A NEW foundation.
One of hope, resilience, understanding, and unshakable faith.
For a new chapter to begin, we must change our internal structure. Otherwise, our outward steps will inevitably bring us back to the starting line.
It’s an opportunity to declutter: to remove what no longer serves, and replace it with what does.
As I mentioned last week, this is a gradual journey- but it is absolutely necessary.
So ask yourself:
What are the things I know I should be doing… but I’m not?
Am I pretending I’m in motion when I’m actually stuck?
What barrier do I keep coming up against, no matter which way I turn?
What inside me is keeping me from walking forward?
